Our Blogger of the Month campaign is gaining momentum and we have yet again received a great response from our fans and the fantastic bloggers out there. We’ve had the pleasure of spending much of September drooling over delicious recipe ideas and reading some really interesting restaurant reviews.
At the end of last month, we announced that the chosen blog was to be the Purple Pumpkin Blog (http://www.thepurplepumpkinblog.co.uk/) for its use of vegetarian and gluten-free recipes (http://www.thepurplepumpkinblog.co.uk/2013/04/vegetarian-vegan-recipe-index.html#sthash.gXAxY6kB.dpbs). We chose this blog because it ties in with the recent launch of our new menu, which has a full gluten-free accreditation from Coeliac UK and contains 34 gluten-free dishes and 34 vegetarian dishes, we think it’s important to showcase the use of gluten-free and vegetarian recipes and the Purple Pumpkin Blog offers a great selection for its readers. Its gluten-free cinnamon balls look just as good as our gluten-free chocolate fondant!
We’ll be on the lookout for another Blogger of the Month in November and welcome our friends on social media to send us their suggestions!

Hi there tapas lovers!
So, what have we been up to? Well, this summer we launched a new campaign to find our Blogger of the Month. Why this summer you may ask? That’s because we have been revolutionising the business over the last two years under a new management team. For example, the whole food supply chain and menu has been totally overhauled with all our Spanish produce now sourced directly from local suppliers across Spain. We are really proud to say that 85% of all our food is now fresh compared to 85% frozen (yuk!) three years ago and we were voted the Best Gluten Free menu in the UK! Yes, we have over 34 gluten free tapas dishes and the new menu will feature a virtually gluten free dessert section.
So, we searched high and low (well using social media channels) to find the crème de la crème of the blogger sphere. We received a fantastic response from some great bloggers and proceeded to spend the whole of July drooling over delicious recipe ideas and fantastic food photography.
At the end of last month, we announced that the chosen blog was to be the Spanish Thyme Traveller (link to blog) – a blog about everything Spanish – culture, gastronomy and people. For our first ever Blogger of the Month we chose this blog for its posts about experiences in Spain, its recipes, fiestas, bodegas and many more.
After the success of our first search, we will continue to showcase our favourite bloggers and would welcome our friends on social media to send us their suggestions! As a restaurant with locations across England, Scotland and Wales we want to continue to build good relationships with bloggers and hope that this new initiative will really shine a light on some bloggers who are inspiring people with food.
We’ll be launching Blogger of the Month again in September so be sure to keep on eye out and nominate your favourite!

Spanish tapas bar and kitchen, La Tasca, has been awarded for its gluten-free friendly menu this month, as the Healthy Food Guide crowned the restaurant ‘Best for Gluten-Free’ in the magazine’s annual Healthy Eating Awards.
The awards involved a host of leading restaurants being put to the test, as a panel of expert judges from the monthly magazine blind tasted a range of dishes from the shortlisted restaurants’ menus. La Tasca pipped its competitors to the post as it scooped ‘Best for Gluten’ for its main menu, which features over 34 gluten-free dishes.
La Tasca, which has 64 restaurants throughout the UK, launched its gluten-free friendly menu in February 2012 in a bid to make its offering more inclusive for people with varying dietary needs. The restaurant’s main menu also features 24 vegetarian dishes and a range of vegan dishes.
Simon Wilkinson, CEO at La Tasca Restaurants, commented:
“We are delighted with news that we have been awarded ‘Best for Gluten Free’ for our main menu. Here at La Tasca we are passionate about offering our customers a variety of dishes, so the launch of our gluten free offering has been a great way to make our menu more accessible to more people. The award win follows a period of significant change for the business and we’re thrilled to see this is being well received by both our customers and the media.”

Making sure that our customers are all catered for is very important to us and our Executive Chef, Antonio Bennetto has been crafting our latest menu for some time to accommodate for all of your needs.
An article in the BBC news today explains that 20% of people state that they have a food intolerance. You can view the full article here. Meaning that eating out can become less enjoyable for those with limited choice. Our new menu has many different options and can be viewed here.
